Nursing Service

Nursing Service

At 3C Malta, we provide safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care for the elderly to offer support to those recovering from illness or surgery, managing chronic diseases, or simply aging at home.

Our professional nurses are equipped with the knowledge and skills to guide you through any health condition by helping you understand more about it and facilitating your recovery and ongoing health management.

Our nursing services include skilled activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating your care needs. Once a thorough assessment has been carried out, our nurses will create an individualised care plan in collaboration with your doctor and our interdisciplinary team. This plan will be tailored to your specific needs and reviewed regularly to ensure that it remains effective and consistently aligned with your evolving health requirements.

All of our team members are fully qualified and Maltese-speaking; and we are dedicated to providing you the highest standards of care. Our carers will listen attentively, respond swiftly, and are committed to maintaining quality and continuity in your care.

Our nursing services can be further supported by our interdisciplinary team; providing services such as phlebotomy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, nutritionist services, live-in care, and visiting carer services.

We take each case seriously and ensure that you will receive the personalised nursing care that you need and deserve. Through our holistic approach and comprehensive support, we will provide you with peace of mind and enhance your quality of life at home.

Benefits:

When is nursing care most useful and beneficial?

Parameter Monitoring

Our nurses will monitor all vital signs along with blood glucose, blood pressure, pulse and respiration, as well as any other specific monitoring required by our clients, such as Oxygen blood saturation monitoring and management of Non-Invasive Ventilation or Positive End Expiratory Pressure (PEEP) Masks.

Medication Management

Any necessary preparation and/or administration of all types of medications: Oral, Ocular, Nasal, Rectal, Otic, Inhalation, Cutaneous (Topical) or Transdermal medications. Our nurses will also provide adequate information and education to clients and their informal carers to ensure better understanding and compliance to the prescribed medication. In addition, they will also prepare and administer any medications via intra-muscular and Subcutaneous injections as prescribed by medical professionals.

Catheter Care and Management

We offer care and management of various indwelling catheters – whether Peritoneal, Urinary, Suprapubic, Port-a-cath, Vascath, or any other catheters in situ. Urinary and Suprapubic catheter management is carried out by a professional registered experienced nurse. This includes the insertion, removal, and general care of the catheter in situ. Professional support, advice, and education is also provided in order to promote full understanding and compliance to the client’s own care plan.

Diabetic Care

Insulin will be administrated as prescribed in the client’s treatment regime, and blood glucose will be monitored as needed. Our nurses will also provide education and training on the administration of the medication, as well as the importance of diet, exercise, and foot care amongst others in order to equip the client with all the tools necessary to be autonomous, make informed decisions, and be active participants in their own care.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation Programs

Following a holistic assessment, a rehabilitation program will be formed in line with the consultant’s/surgeon’s instructions, together with the client and informal carers, based on the latest evidence-based practice and empirical research.

Feeding Assistance

Any patients requiring care of Naso-Gastric Feeding (NGT) or Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy (PEG) will be provided with specialised professional nursing care. The nurse will be able to assist in the insertion and monitoring of prescribed NGT, and also provide all necessary support and advice to formal and informal carers.

Wound Management

Professional care and management of acute, surgical, and chronic wounds or ulcers, along with comprehensive wound assessment and change of dressings according to the specific requirements of the wound. Suture removal can also be provided according to the consultant/surgeon’s instructions.
