Live-In Carer Service

Live-In Carer Service

Our live-in care service provides continuous, round-the-clock support from a dedicated carer who resides with you in your home, ensuring immediate assistance whenever needed, and allowing you to remain in a familiar environment filled with fond memories, which further enhances your care plan.

Our handpicked carers offer extensive practical and physical care, as well as companionship and emotional support. They are selected for their professionalism, expertise, and their kind, empathetic personalities, and are matched specifically to you by your local Case Manager Nurse based on your likes, needs, and interests.

Having a live-in carer at home is particularly beneficial for individuals with severe physical disabilities, providing constant personal aid around the home. It is also essential for those with palliative needs, offering support in managing symptoms of severe progressive or terminal conditions. And for elderly clients experiencing age-related frailty or other conditions such as advanced dementia or Parkinson’s disease, a live-in carer will be there to assist with mobility, housework, daily tasks, and safety; ensuring peace of mind in the knowledge that your loved one is well taken care of and never left alone.

Our live-in care service is further complemented by our interdisciplinary team, which provides nursing services to manage medications, wounds, and complex healthcare needs. We also offer phlebotomy, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, nutritionist services, and visiting carer services. This comprehensive approach ensures that all your healthcare needs are met, providing a holistic and supportive care experience in the comfort of your own home.

Benefits:

What are the benefits of opting for our Live-In Care Service?

Personal Care

Offering discreet and sensitive personal care which prevents needing to ask family members to help with intimate routines; thus having a trusted professional to offer assistance with bathing, toileting, getting dressed, and more.

Dietary Needs

Our carers are able to prepare you your favourite meals, drinks, and snacks at whatever time suits you – all while adhering to any specific dietary requirements, and will also take care of tidying and cleaning up afterwards.

Companionship

Living alone or far from loved ones can increase the feeling of loneliness. By having a carer in your home, you will always have company, whether to watch your favourite shows on TV, play a board game, attend a club, or just have a chat over a cup of tea.

Household Chores

Our carers will ensure that your home is always clean and tidy – whether you need them to take care of all the housework or to simply help you cope. This will allow you to enjoy living more comfortably and have more time to relax.

Getting Out & About

We are all about supporting your independence and empowering you to do the things you love. Our stay-at-home carers will accompany you out of your home, whether you need to run an errand, visit a friend, or go away for the weekend!

Complex Care

For those delicate and more complex care needs, our carers will receive additional nurse-led training that will provide them with the equipment and knowledge to offer specialist care; such as catheter and stoma management. We can also provide individualised bespoke support for the most complex conditions, including different types of dementia and cancer.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is there any financial government support available for this service?
Yes, our Live-In Care service is supported by the Government’s ‘Carer at Home Scheme’ through the AACC (Active ageing and Community Care) Department.
How can I apply for the government Subsidy?
You can start by applying for the ‘Carer at Home Scheme’ at AACC (Active ageing and Community Care) on this form which needs to be filled in together with your Family Doctor.
What are the Carer’s Qualifications?
All of our carers are fully qualified to be carers. The minimum requirement for a carer to work in Malta is an MQF Level 3 in Health & Social Care, and we ensure that all our carers have this qualification - or higher - at interview stage. Is the carer offered continuous training?
Yes - we truly believe in continuous professional development. Our dedicated team of health care professionals are continuously setting up training courses for all the carers in order to make sure that they are in line with the latest empirical research and practices.
