Does your relative require constant care, but would benefit more from remaining in familiar surroundings rather than moving to a new residence, such as a care home? If you would prefer to create a safe care situation and maintain a sense of stability in your loved one’s own home, 3C Malta and our team of carers are here to support the individual by means of a tailored care programme which helps him or her live as much of a normal life as possible.
At 3C Malta, our priority is the wellbeing of our clients. To ensure that each client receives the care that he or she requires, we have trained our carers to wear multiple hats, enabling them to become:
Companions Who Provide Emotional Support
Although persons in need of care may insist on remaining independent, studies have shown that isolation and loneliness may increase the risk of depression and can lead to the deterioration of mental health. It is understandable that the hectic lifestyles of family members may prevent them from being able to spend time with their relatives. However, it is also important to remember that human beings require social interaction and companionship to remain healthy and well.
Our carers take the time to get to know our clients and their individual needs in order to build a strong relationship and provide them with personalised care. From playing card games or reading, to taking walks and accompanying them on visits to friends’ houses, a carer’s companionship can contribute to a better quality of life, vastly improving your relative’s mental health and well-being.
Professionals Who Supervise Daily Personal Care Tasks
Regardless of their care needs, all individuals deserve to live and age with dignity and respect in the comfort of their home. Our carers will work around the regular routines of our clients, and will be available to supervise or provide assistance in a discreet manner when they need to complete tasks of a personal nature, including dressing or undressing, grooming, bathing themselves, or relieving themselves.
If assistance with feeding or medication is needed, a live-in carer will also ensure that your loved one is not only eating enough nutritious food but is also remembering to take any prescription medication as required.
Domestic Helpers
Individuals who are unwell, have a disability or are getting older may find it harder to keep up with housekeeping duties. Your loved one’s live-in carer will ensure the home remains a safe and well-maintained space by taking responsibility for household tasks including dusting, vacuuming and washing floors, changing bed linen and tidying cluttered spaces.
In line with our previous point regarding the importance of consuming nutritious food, a live-in carer will also take care of purchasing groceries and preparing meals which meet the special dietary requirements of the client.
A Shoulder To Learn On
Our live-in carers are not just our clients’ employees, but they quickly become an integral part of each other’s lives. For our clients’ families, it is reassuring to know that their loved one is receiving constant one-to-one care, and that the live-in carer is close if an incident were to happen. For our clients, the carer is someone they can talk to, who will accompany them on errands and appointments, provide a helping hand or lend an ear whenever they need it.
